About Elena Vance
Welcome to my studio. I am a ceramic artist based in Portland, Oregon, where I spend my days wrestling with wet clay and my nights mixing glaze recipes.
My journey began ten years ago in a community studio, and I have been obsessed with the medium ever since. I specialize in functional stoneware and teach wheel-throwing workshops to aspiring potters.
Through this blog, I document my experiments with cone 6 glazes, share tips for centering clay on the wheel, and explore the philosophy of making objects for daily use.
When I am not in the studio, I am usually hiking in the Columbia River Gorge or tending to my vegetable garden.
